In the region of Zhending there was an orphan girl, who at six or seven was taken into her husband's family. After two or three years her husband seduced her into union, and she conceived. Her belly swelled, and thinking it an illness, she told her mother. "Does it move?" asked the mother. "It moves," said the girl, and they were all the more astonished. But as she was so young, they dared not be certain. Before long she gave birth to a son. The mother sighed, "I never thought a fist of a mother could bear a needle of a son!"
